Summary of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant role is responsible for providing a range of complex and confidential administrative assignments under the direction of the Administrative Manager for the Office of Admissions, Student Affairs, and Alumni Engagement (OASAAE). The role will support the Dean's, Director's, and staff members of the office.
Duties may include but are not limited to providing administrative support; maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; preparing correspondence, reports and/or presentations; schedule; making travel arrangements; special event and project coordination/execution; assisting with the preparation of grants/contracts; budget maintenance and oversight and assisting in administrative problem solving.
Represents the department in positions requiring a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Under the direction of the Administrative Manager, performs the day-to-day office support activities including the maintenance of financial and personnel records.

Required Qualifications:
One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR a Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or closely allied field and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher. Clerical or office work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Demonstrated working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution or similar complex organization.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and occasional weekends.
Works professionally and collaboratively across the Unit, Office, and College contributing to a positive working culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional working experience in a higher education environment.
Experience in handling personnel administration.

Monthly Salary: Range 37 $3,024 to $4,013 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
