Job Description:
The Assistant Director's responsibilities will be to provide strategic leadership and training for Admissions Office campus visit programs and the recruitment of new first-year students. This position will provide training and create recruitment strategies for Admissions Officers based in Mankato as well as the Twin-Cities based recruiter. This includes strategies to expand recruitment efforts with specific populations (i.e., underrepresented students, out-of-state students, etc.) and the Assistant Director will serve as part of the office management team.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in college admission, student affairs, or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Experience in program planning and development.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Well-developed problem solving and leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to garner support for policies and procedures.
- Experience using data to inform strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of post-secondary educational opportunities and the Admissions recruitment year cycle.
- Experience in the area of budget development and implementation.
- Demonstrated technology background with working knowledge of social networking and web technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
Position has flexibility to telework or work on campus.
Extended overnight travel required. Recruitment activities include evening college fairs. Must be eligible to obtain a credit card and possess a valid driver's license.

- The salary range denoted above is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
