Job Duties:
Teaching assignment may include a full range of courses within the Art and Graphic Design discipline.
Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses such as foundation studio art classes, including but not limited to Drawing I and II, Figure Drawing, Painting, Color and Design, 3-D Design, and Art History. The faculty member may also teach courses in the instructor’s specialized field, such as sculpture, painting, ceramics, digital media and other classes as curriculum changes to meet the needs of the College.
Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or on-line courses.
Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses, maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum, participating in College service, and professional development activities.
Leadership in developing and improving our academic courses.
Community service is encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in fine arts or studio arts; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in fine arts or studio arts required.
All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.
A Portfolio is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the community college level.
Experience and/or interest in using multi-media/new instructional technology in the classroom.
Experience and/or interest in online course development and instruction.
Experience and interest in utilizing Learning Management Systems for course enhancement or delivery.
Academic leadership experience.
An interest in teaching hands-on studio courses on campus and contributing to the community art initiatives at SC4.
