Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The role of the Academic Success Coach (ASC) is to provide academic support for students across all College of Nursing (CON) programs. Areas of support include but are not limited to: learning strategies, stress management, life/school balance, adjusting to college, professional development, providing additional resources and graduate support. This position will create and deliver student presentations and materials related to academic support. The ASC provides support to faculty through collaboration and addressing individual student needs with faculty. Additionally, this position will provide support for special groups of students including grant recipients, or specific populations.

Administration - 25%
Recruitment & Retention - 20%
Other - 5%
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Understanding of effective learning strategies, such as: spaced review, retrieval practice, dual coding, concrete examples, elaboration, interleaving.
Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use office software such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and Microsoft Office programs.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment and a diverse student population.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize job tasks effectively.
High level of interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, including presentations.
Demonstrated public speaking skills/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year or more of experience providing student services in a higher education institution.
Outstanding customer service skills with 1+ years of customer service, academic advising/coaching, or related experience required.
Master's degree in related field.
Knowledge of curriculum management practices, processes and policies.
Experience working with and maintaining student records.
Familiarity with Washington State University academic rules and regulations.
Limited hybrid work may be possible after sufficient onboarding into the position.
Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - $5077.00
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
