Job Description: The Beaches Campus is seeking a full-time elementary teacher beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. The most competitive candidates will have experience with and a demonstrated interest in working with Grades K-5 students. Due to the collegial nature of our faculty, a willing investment in collaborative efforts and professional growth is also a prerequisite of work at Episcopal. Contribution to the larger school community through such means as academic advising, in addition to coaching or sponsoring extracurricular programs, is expected of all community members.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of study from a four-year college or university, or post-graduate work in subject matter; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Three years of teaching experience in a private or independent school setting is preferred. However, consideration will be afforded to any qualified individual who has either worked in other educational settings or is new to the teaching profession, and who has a strong sense of vocation to work with students in an independent school environment.
Candidates should possess: • A working familiarity with the content and skills central to core academic classes including literacy and language arts, mathematics, and social studies; and a willingness to learn and employ a learner-centered approach in the classroom
• A commitment to and engagement in collaborative work on behalf of the students’ educational experience
• A thorough knowledge of the subject matter of courses taught, and a growthmindset in seeking and taking advantage of opportunities for continued learning and professional growth in your field at Episcopal.
