Position Summary
Enrollment Services is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Class Schedule, Prospective Student Services, Communications, and the Student Information System and Web interface. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.
This position is part of an Enrollment Services unit that is primarily responsible for assisting with the recruitment efforts for International Recruitment. This unit supports international undergraduate and graduate students through the application and yield process to meet its enrollment management goals and enhancing the diversity of its students.
The International Admissions Adviser will be responsible for implementing strategies to support international applicants and increase the number of international students from targeted countries. He/she will advise prospective students and families and provide information about admission requirements. In addition to recruitment activities on campus for targeted groups, this position will assist in processing and determining admission eligibility for international first-time freshman applicants based on assigned regions, through records evaluation and communication with applicants, faculty and other institutions as appropriate. This position is responsible for enhancing recruitment activities within Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Philippines, along with other targeted regions. The International Admissions Adviser will also work closely with campus partners such as the American Language Institute, the International Student Center, and others to support students in the application and enrollment process. Reviews correspondence and supplemental information and evaluates transcripts, test scores and evaluation service reports to determine admission eligibility.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in Chinese or another language.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,610 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,610 - $6,556 per month.
