Reporting to the Dean of the College of Science & Mathematics (CSM) and working with department leadership, administrators, and faculty, the Associate/Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs will oversee operations regarding research, assessment, articulations, and accreditation of programs. The position will work in close coordination with the Dean and Associate Deans to drive strategic initiatives of the college. The successful candidate will optimize college processes and develop infrastructure to support the rapid growth of the college.
Specific responsibilities include:
Research operations
Grant support
College-wide assessment of research and academic programs
Articulation development and oversight
Accreditation oversight
Strategic optimization and oversight of relevant College level policies, procedures, and operations such as research and graduate studies
Qualifications:
PhD in one of the disciplines in the College of Science & Mathematics. Post-doctoral experience is expected. Previous academic experience commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or above is expected. Preferred candidates will have experience in:
Academic administration in a formally appointed role
Establishing academic policies
Assessment
Research, with a background in scientific writing and/or support of research faculty and graduate students
Developing academic partnerships and articulation agreements
Overseeing academic program accreditation processes
