Summary of Duties:
The Program Assistant has extensive interaction with students, staff, faculty, parents, community members, and campuses to provide accurate information and assistance regarding the CougarCard program. This position coordinates services primarily at the service window, monitors operations of the University's Point of Sale (POS) System, receives and verifies financial transactions, verifies customer information, and coordinates the production of CougarCards, ID badges, etc. Monitors, updates and enters accurate information in CS Gold, Datacard, myWSU, QuickBooks, and other WSU record-keeping systems. Processes Registered Student Organization (RSO) check requests and IRIs. Manages RSO Signature Cards yearly. Handles RSO cash deposits. Presents training PowerPoint to new RSO Officers and REDs. Is the main point of contact for RSO financial questions. Manages RSO Cash Box rentals. Assists in training temporary student workers on card production and customer service. Act as backup for annual service and special project billings. Helps coordinate and present at the student information presentations during New Coug Orientation Sessions.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in effectively working with diverse or multicultural student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Eighteen (18) months of fiscally related work such as bank teller or retail sales clerk.
Experience in automated ID systems, card technology, identification cards, OR equivalent education/experience.
Experience using automated ID / access control systems or equivalent education/experience.
Experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.).
Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license
