Overview
Represent NYU to a wide and diverse audience around the world as a member of the Undergraduate Admissions Counseling Team. Advise prospective students, parents, and high school/transfer counselors regarding admissions policies, procedures, academic programs, and financial aid opportunities. Evaluate applications and recommend admissions decisions for all of NYUs undergraduate colleges; review and evaluate credentials. Oversee and delegate tasks related to one or more special projects (examples include recruitment, evaluation and selection, transfer admissions, etc.). Specifically reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions on the University Relations team, this role plays a pivotal role on the Counseling Team liaising with colleagues at our 10 undergraduate schools and colleges, other divisions within Enrollment Management, and many other offices at NYU, to provide unsurpassed customer service and partnership to our internal university colleagues. The person in this role will be expected to maintain frequent contact with several internal constituents to manage programs and processes, and to troubleshoot faculty, staff, and student issues. They will partner with our school colleagues on a variety of projects such as students applying for readmission, students transitioning across schools, managing processes for our artistic application processes, and more. Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant professional level experience in an admissions office or equivalent combination. Must include experience with advising/counseling, project leadership, and/or staff training/development.
Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience in a project team leadership role.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. Ability to market the University independently and provide leadership within a team frame. Extensive travel and weekend hours required. Valid Driver's License required. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Strong data fluency required.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $88,500.00.
