The Office of Fraternal Life and Off-Campus Services resides in the Center for Community under the leadership of the Dean of Students. The Center for Community has as its primary function the advancement of the mission of the Division of Student and Campus Life and of the College through the integration of multiple resources within the community. The offices of the Dean of Students, Student Conduct and Community Standards, Leadership, Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement (including Americorps VISTA), Fraternal Life and Off-Campus Services, and Student Employment collaborate together and with the larger community to enhance respect, responsibility, rational thinking, and learning by doing within a diverse society. This configuration allows the Center to involve and engage students in becoming responsible members of their community, and to focus on setting the tone for the advancement of broad leadership, communication, and life skills.

The Coordinator of Fraternal Life and Off-Campus Services is responsible for promoting and supporting an educationally purposeful fraternal life program consistent with the mission and goals of the College. There are currently 27 recognized fraternal organizations of national, regional, local, professional, and co-educational affiliation. This person provides vision, leadership, and oversight for the entire fraternity and sorority community and serves as the staff person responsible for the management and supervision of Fraternal Life at SUNY Geneseo.

The Coordinator of Fraternal Life and Off-Campus Services is responsible for the further advancement and support of town-gown relations between the College and the Geneseo community and integration of on- and off-campus student living. This person serves as a resource for students and community members that may have questions about how the College supports off-campus students with programs and resources, what expectations the College and Village have of these students, and whom to contact with questions or concerns. This person serves as Center for Community liaison with community groups, the Mayor’s office, Village Police Department, Code Enforcement Office, service groups, landlords, retailers and local business groups, and College neighbors.
