Description: The Administrative Assistant for Student Success is responsible for providing administrative support for Pratt Institute's new Student Success Center, including front office reception along with special projects for staff members including events, research, workshops/program coordination, outreach, resource development and budget processes. The role assists with logistics and processes related to learning support, including processes for the Institute's retention software (Starfish). The position requires a high degree of confidentiality and discretion. Applicants should be adept at promoting a positive environment for diversity and inclusion.
Admin Duties and Responsibilities will include: The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for fostering a welcoming front office atmosphere and providing excellent customer service.
Greet visitors at the front desk and direct them appropriately.
Answering, screening and forwarding incoming phone calls.
Responds to department(s) email, forwarding as needed as well as directing students to appropriate resources.
Assist with special projects and events for Success staff members including research, workshops/program coordination, outreach, check-in and attendance tracking, resource development and budget support.
Schedule meetings for the Director with outside departments.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Student Success Duties and Responsibilities: The Administrative assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director for all student success initiatives.
Coordinates processes for learning support services, such as managing paperwork and processing hours/time sheets of part-time tutors, and scheduling appointments.
Provides logistical support for the First Year student academic success program (Pilots).
Assists with monitoring and tracking of students through the Institute's retention software (Starfish), including assistance with workflows around clearing notifications/alerts.
Works with Peer Student staff to coordinate front end management for tutoring and assigning immediate front office tasks and providing direction for prioritization of tasks.
Assists with identifying and mapping out support services available in various offices across campus.
Supports budget processes including invoices, EMS, student employment payroll and timesheets, ordering items for the office, rectifying the department credit card and processing receipts.
Other data entry and processing of student records.
Create and distribute event information (flyers, electronic posts)
Use interactive strategies that acknowledge and value cultural diversity, draw on the diversity of students' experiences in planning, assessment, learning goals and approaches, survey activities, and demonstrate a positive appreciation of people and their cultural values.
This is an OPEIU Local 153 Clerical position. The Salary Range is $48K to $52K + Generous Benefits including:

Qualifications: Education: High School or GED required, BA preferred.
Experience: Two or more years experience working with college student populations a plus.
Required Skills:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on a team and follow instructions.
Independently Proficient in the Google Suite applications.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Preference will be given to candidates with documented experience working with English Language Learners, diverse and at-risk populations.
