Description:The Director of Student Engagement is a 12-month position that reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Student Life as part of the Student Leadership & Engagement team. This position is responsible for creating and developing a campus environment which fosters student engagement in an irresistibly hospitable community through a vision of the “Good Life” through the lens of Christian faithfulness; accomplished through a variety of co-curricular activities, groups, and programs.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following: recruit and develop a team of student leaders for a student activities leadership program; strategically plan and carry out a student activities program that supports Student Life & Learning objectives and contributes to students’ capacity to thrive in Grove City College’s campus community; strategically plan and carry out a welcome week program that supports Student Life & Learning objectives and the new student transition into the Grove City College community; serve as a co-advisor to the Student Government Association in coordination with the Assistant Dean of Student Life, specifically serving as a Senate resource; coordinate co-curricular student clubs and organizations programs, including annual training and orientation of student leaders and faculty advisors; establish and implement short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; and assist in the ongoing functioning of student program spaces within the Breen Student Union.
Requirements: Requires a master’s degree in Student Development/Student Affairs or related field, and three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working with college students in a student development/ministry capacity. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication ability, strong attention to detail, multi-tasking and time management skills, organizational acumen, analytical skills along with a desire to work on a high-impact, energetic, collaborative team. The candidate must also demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting student needs, and be able to maintain a professional, positive, and service-oriented attitude. Finally, the individual should be aligned with the overarching Christian mission of the College and office.
