Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings & weekends required
Job Summary: Responsible for building and maintaining effective communication among their respective college/department/division, The University of Alabama, and all community and education stakeholders. Responsible for increasing and maintaining alumni relations in their respective college, department, or division, as well as planning and implementing special events.
Additional Department Summary: The Coordinator Corporate & Alumni Relations takes ownership of corporate and alumni partnership engagement activities. Initiates and confirms events. Routes activity through a work process flow across a variety of channels. Confirms details with the corporate partner/alum. Manages details. Promotes activity to Manderson students, faculty, and staff. Builds relationships with alumni and corporate partners as they start, continue, or build their engagement activities with Manderson. Interacts with key external constituents (college advisory board members, top executives (CEO, COO, etc.), campus recruiters, and alumni routinely). Interacts with key internal constituents (students, faculty, and career and admissions staff). Provides exceptional service to corporate/alumni partners and students. Conducts business communications and follow-up activities with corporate/alumni partners to establish or enhance their activities at UA and Manderson including: (a) extensive communication with companies and students to ensure both groups are properly informed of employment and internship opportunities and the procedures for participating in available recruiting opportunities, (b) posting jobs and internships using the online recruiting system (currently Handshake), (c) tracking student response to postings and ensuring openings and interview schedules are promoted to the appropriate students to maximize student and recruiter outcomes, (d) planning and executing visits by companies for interviews and other critical student development activities, and (e) supporting and/or executing experiential learning opportunities for Manderson students.
May be required to work outside of the normal office hours on occasion.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication skills. Relationship management skills. Ability to build relationships at all levels, including with executive management. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously utilizing creativity, organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well and accurately and effectively under tight deadlines and with some ambiguity. Ability to learn new skills quickly. Proficiency in technology and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or communications. Work experience in hospitality management, retail, customer relations, business communications, public relations, or marketing/graphic design. Work experience in corporate, social media, academic, or other professional writing. Exposure to and experience with CRM tools and LinkedIn.
