Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) offers career-training programs in numerous technical, industrial and medical fields at a reasonable cost, going so far as to even waive tuition for certain eligible students. Located in Richlands, Virginia, SWCC offers Associateâ™s degrees in such fields as business, education, general studies, liberal arts and science. These degrees are primarily intended for students who wish to transfer to a four-year university. SWCC also has Associateâ™s degrees that feature programs intended to lead directly to a career in fields such as Nursing, Radiography and Administration of Justice.Southwest Virginia Community College is seeking an individual to fill the role of CSCI Student Success Advisor to assist students in accessing and completing applications, registration, and financial aid resources and requirements. This position will guide every student to choose the right educational pathway to achieve their career goals by employing labor market information and career development strategies while focusing on building academic schedules to enhance student access. The Advisor will promote SingleStop registration to enhance student access of available external support systems and perform intrusive advising measure to increase retention and completion rates among students.This is a grant-funded position.
