About the Department
The Office of Student Services serves as an essential nexus between the Nolan Hotel School's students and its faculty and staff by overseeing all aspects of the student experience. Student Services encompasses Undergraduate Advising, Graduate Programs (MMH), the Nolan Registrar team, Diversity & Inclusion, as well as Student Activities & Events.
The Opportunity
The Student Services Coordinator is an integral and vital team member in the Office of Student Services for the Nolan School of Hotel Administration. This role performs a wide range of duties related to student services including acting as the first point of contact for staff, students and the public; maintaining front desk reception and operations; administrative tracking of the Real Estate Minor; and oversight and coordination of all room scheduling for classes, meetings, events, and exams within the school. This position will also assist with administrative and transactional support for the Nolan Hotel School Registrar team.
This is a highly sensitive position in the Office of Student Services that requires confidentiality and adherence to FERPA, Cornell University and Nolan Hotel School processes and policies.
Required Qualifications:

- Associate's degree and two to four years of related or transferable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook (email/calendar).
- Professional, punctual, reliable, and ethical approach to working a highly visible and high-traffic role.
- Ability to maintain responsibilities with a high level of attention to detail and organizational techniques while managing and attending to frequent interruptions.
- Effective communication (oral and written) techniques in the context of serving a diverse group of stakeholders, including students and staff.
- Must be able to effectively prepare written memos/emails and handle confidential information.
- Ability to recognize and prioritize the work of the office; propensity to readily acquire familiarity with the regulations, policies, functions and personnel of the office and school.
- Ingenuity and resourcefulness in handling administrative problems, good judgment, tact, professionalism, and initiative.
- Customer service experience is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cornell's Student Records System (PeopleSoft) and room scheduling software (25Live).
- Familiarity with university and college policies and procedures.

This position is located in Ithaca, New York. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside New York State.
