Summary The Graduate Academic & Clinical Program Coordinator (GPC) in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences (SLHS) leads the graduate admissions process, recruitment, and current graduate student academic and clinical advising. Scope of work involves extensive contact with prospective and current graduate students, as well as faculty, staff, clinicians, and numerous University graduate offices and staff. This role develops and implements long-term recruitment and communication strategies to attain, retain, and support timely degree completion for the graduate students in SLHS. Additionally, they serve as the first point of contact for clinical education and manages communication and partnership with graduate students, faculty and staff within the department, staff across the University, and external contacts. Directs student on-boarding; manages clinical practicum coordination, department affiliation agreements, and various policy adherence and accreditation documentation. Provides additional department support as necessary.

Manage Admissions and Recruitment Efforts (45%)
Manages Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences graduate application process including inquiries from prospective students, applications, and enrollment.
Manages visits by prospective graduate students and families to the Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences, including arranging faculty/staff appointments, discussions with current graduate students, class visits, and facilities tours.
Directs and independently manages communication and formal messaging with prospective graduate students.
Coordinates with Department Leadership to oversee recruitment scholarships, doctoral fellowships, and awards for graduate students to the Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences.
Provides research on applicant decisions to either enroll or not enroll at the Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences, and makes long-term recommendations regarding changes to admissions and recruitment procedures based on results of research.
Represents the Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences to Office of Graduate Admissions in formulating Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences admissions policy consistent with the College of Liberal Arts and University policy and guidelines.
Manages Graduate Ambassador program, directing two current graduate students in assisting with admissions and visits, among other things.
Graduate Academic and Clinical Program Coordination (45%)
Academic Support: Serves as first point of contact in resolving problems with degree plan, graduation paperwork, enrollment, and final examinations.
Coordinate Academic Program: Primary liaison to CLA Office of Research and Graduate Programs, Graduate Student Services and Progress (GSSP), and Office of Graduate Admissions on communications timelines, application deadlines and procedures, and scholarship and fellowship awards.
Manage Clinical On-Boarding: Directs graduate student onboarding (preparation of transcripts, transfer syllabi, badges, keys, copier codes, mailboxes, department files, and online clinical portfolios) and inform students of clinical program requirements and coordinate fulfillment of requirements to include training (HIPAA, Data Security, Basic Life Support).
Facilitate clinical education practicum placements and documentation.
Coordinate affiliation agreements with off-campus practicum sites.
Manages accreditation documentation and assists with preparation of accreditation report.
Manage Graduate Support and Recruitment Funds (5%)
Advises DGS, DCPs, and chair regarding available funds for support and recruitment.
Notifies recipients of awards and monitors expenses.
Events, Communication and University Engagement (5%)
Represents the Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences as needed at University-wide, discipline conventions, College of Liberal Arts events, and other local public venues.
Plans, organizes, and executes events including but not limited to: open houses, incoming graduate student orientation, commencement reception, application process information sessions, CEU Supervisor events.
Represents the Department of Speech-Language Hearing Sciences as member of the Forum of Liberal Arts Communicators (FLAC).
Prepares marketing materials for ASHA and other related conventions, where recruitment of faculty and graduate students is a focus.
Required Qualifications
BS/BA or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years
High degree of professionalism, with excellent student/customer service-related skills
Experience/proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive
Demonstrated excellence in the following areas
Oral and written communication skills, including drafting recruitment content for emails, web and print communication
Time management and organizational skills, with an emphasis on precision and timeliness of execution

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an academic environment with a particular focus on student services
Experience developing, organizing, and coordinating student-related programs and events, for both current and prospective students
Experience creating and interpreting policies/procedures and communicating these to various constituents
Knowledge of the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology
