Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Program Assistant who performs a variety of tasks in support of the Student Support Services (SSS) program. This position responds to inquires regarding office procedures and services, informs staff on data entry issues and concerns, maintains student and general files and schedules appointments. The incumbent represents the program to clients, participants, staff and the community. TRiO SSS serves approximately 200 students each year and is grant funded at 100% by the U.S. Department of Education. This position reports to the Director for Student Support Services.

Primary Responsibilities:
Enter, retrieve and manipulate student data in SSS database;
Record pending/active/inactive participant data;
Update student data in Student Management System (SMS) including add/drop/withdrawal;
Provide staff with weekly/quarterly/yearly reports as requested by Director;
Input data on tables and spreadsheets to maintain program records;
Process and maintain reports of various SSS documents;
Schedule intake appointments and SSS meetings;
Request information regarding financial eligibility status of students from the CBC Financial Aid Department;
Input and maintain client information (i.e., progress reports) and tutor information in database and provide data reports to Program Support Supervisor;
Record exit information in database;
Input statistical data relative to program activities using spreadsheet and database software;
Collaborate with other departments and outside agencies to compile and disseminate information;
Organize purchasing and surplus of books;
Answer phones and respond to general inquires, type correspondence, keep inventory of supplies, prepare documents/fliers/quarterly newsletter for mailing; and
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; and
Two (2) years of applicable clerical experience.
*Equivalent education and experience will substitute on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in grant-funded programs particularly with Department of Education grants such as TRiO.
Columbia Basin College (CBC) serves the citizens of Benton and Franklin counties in Washington state with two-year associate degrees for transfer to a four-year university, and applied degrees for workforce employment.
