The Assistant Vice Provost for Student Success (AVPSS) will direct and develop proposals, initiatives, and programs to advance student success measures and new strategies at the Chancellor's request as well as propose new strategies based on best practices. These initiatives may be university-wide and/or discipline specific. The AVPSS will provide data analysis with recommendations for improvements. The AVPSS will lead the Student Success framework to include the Student Success Advisory Council which is a newly established framework for promoting student success strategies and developing new initiatives to include faculty research proposals pertaining to student success. The AVPSS will serve as the liaison for corporate and community partners for special student success initiatives. This position includes writing, reading, and responding to RFPs for supporting and financing student success programming and initiatives, reviewing all student success proposals to be submitted through DORED and maintaining the database for these proposals. The AVPSS will operate as the project manager for implementing new student success initiatives. Daily activities include preparing budget reports, adjusting project schedules/long-term and short-term plans, adhering to deadlines and milestones, serving as a point of contact for multiple units assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy, keeping student success initiatives aligned with their goals, performing quality control on student success projects throughout development to maintain expected standards. The AVPSS will report to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Success and University Registrar and work closely with the respective college directors. Work must stay in alignment with university strategic priorities. The AVPSS is responsible for the success of the Federal TRIO Programs.

Requirements:
Master's degree (PhD/EdD preferred) in an area related to student services, education or college administration. Those that are master's degree prepared must have at least 7 years (PhD/EdD 4 years) of higher education experience including experience in the area of student success, advising and/or retention, program management, or corporate partnerships. Excellent research, project management and strong written and oral communication skills are required.
