Job Overview
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is looking for qualified individuals to apply for the Staff Clinician position and join our energetic, multidisciplinary, culturally-informed collaborative team of mental health professionals. This clinical staff member of CAPS will serve the needs of students at University of Cincinnati, in the Lindner College of Business (LCB). LCB is comprised of a diverse student body, both graduate and undergraduate programs. We are seeking applicants who have interest and experience working with first generation college students, students of color, and in an urban campus community.
This position would serve Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, and be a member of the Counseling and Psychological Serves (UC-CAPS) team. Under general supervision from a designated administrator, provide direct clinical counseling services to LCB students. Develop and provide outreach to the LCB community, and build a supportive community for the academic success and well-being of students.
Essential Functions
Provide direct counseling services to university students (LCB), including intake evaluation, counseling, and emergency management.
Provide consultation to university community regarding counseling needs.
Develop and provide outreach to students, faculty, and staff.
Serve as liaison for counseling center to the university community and community agencies.
Participate in training program(s) within the counseling center.
Develop and coordinates programs within the counseling center.
Collect data for program coordination.
Keep abreast of developments in professional field, related to student mental health, cultural competency and equitable access to services.
Represent the department on committees.
May provide direct or in direct supervision to staff or trainees.
Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education
Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or Doctorate Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
Required Trainings/Certifications
Must be independently licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio, with the ability to supervise in their discipline.
License must be achieved within six (6) months of date of employment.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of clinical experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience working in a college or university counseling center or other academic environment.
Experience working as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Familiarity working with under-represented students and students from marginalized groups.
Familiarity with trauma-informed interventions.
Experience working with students of color, first-generation college students, and in an urban campus environment.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
