Under the supervision of the Women???s Center Director, the Program Coordinator (Student Life Coordinator) will be responsible for maintaining a supportive academic, emotional, and creative environment for Brooklyn College students, faculty, and staff. The Program Coordinator will implement and coordinate program activities. Along with the Office Manager, the Coordinator will coordinate day-to-day operations for the community space at the Women???s Center.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, additional responsibilities include but not be limited to the following:
Maintain regular contact with students via face-to-face appointments, drop-ins, telephone, or email.
Implement an overall college and community outreach plan.
Collaborate with campus-wide departments and different stakeholders to coordinate campus-wide and community activities/events sponsored by the Women???s Center.
Assess student needs, coordinate and schedule skill-based workshops, including those tailored to the needs of underserved populations.
Supervise work-study students, volunteers, interns, and college assistants.
Serve as club advisors for all student clubs based in the Women???s Center.
Provide individual academic and personal mentoring.
Maintain a resource clearinghouse for women-related issues such as scholarships, career development, parenting counseling, and post-graduate studies at the Women???s Center.
Promote student usage of the resources at the Center.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualification
Two years??? experience working in Higher Education student support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Experience working with a diverse student population.
Strong interpersonal/human relations skills.
Excellent written and public speaking skills.

Assists student organizations/clubs in planning, implementing events and programs, and managing expenditures
Coordinates and helps present informational and educational programs, such as student leadership training and orientation

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.
If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
