Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Medical Director. Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Health and Wellness in the Division of Student Affairs, the Medical Director provides leadership and manages clinical medical operations for Student Health Services at Rutgers-Newark.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
Provides direct primary care for eligible patients, maintaining the scope of practice contemporary to the needs of college health
Administers all medical service functions for the health center, including medical protocols and procedures, medical staff clinical schedules (including urgent care hours), vacation and meeting schedules
Maintains a small caseload and sees overflow patients
Resolves problems of medical care
Participates in the recruitment of medical staff
Conducts annual performance reviews of medical staff
Leads medical quality program
Works to maintain AAAHC accreditation
Plays a key part of the overall quality program within Student Health Services
Works with Executive Director, SVC's Senior Team, and the Chancellor's office on issues of health and wellness on campus, public health, emergency/disaster planning, and scope of medical services
Minimum Education and Experience:
Five (5) years of professional clinical experience exclusive of internship and residency in the practice of medicine
Supervisory and Administrative experience is required
