Detailed Job Description PLEASE NOTE: The position requires managing an international geographic territory. This includes planning and executing recruiting travel activities in the fall and the spring each year. A typical year will require around 3 months of being outside the United States supporting the work of the division.
The Assistant Director of International Enrollment works within the International Enrollment team. Their primary function is to recruit both undergraduate and graduate students, build relationships and contacts globally, review applications, and contribute to the overall mission and responsibilities of the international enrollment team. This position will have significant concentration increasing transfer undergraduate students, either studying in the United States or internationally.
Assistant Directors are also charged with leading a specific unique task(s) or project(s) that are critical to achieve strategic goals at division and university wide levels. This could include items like overseeing the execution of student visas, or key collaborative projects with International Student Services, the English Language Center, and RIT Global.
As a matter of responsibility, all members of the International Enrollment team manage a global territory and conduct all of the required functions to optimize that region for RIT and its enrollment efforts. In this, a focus on excellent customer service and timely response is a key to success.
In addition, they will serve as a reader for all undergraduate applications in their territory and support the team in reading several applications from other counselors. The Assistant Director will need to stay current on new developments at RIT, help support the division with on campus enrollment events, and be a strong colleague to other member of the International Enrollment Team.
Responsibilities:
Global Territory Management: Inquiry Cultivation, Event Planning and Management, Relationship Building with Key Decision Makers, and Travel Coordination
Prospective Student Engagement: Responding and Cultivating Student Inquiries to RIT Website and Providing Persuasive Articulation of RIT's Strengths
Application Review and Admissions Process: Preparing Applications for Undergraduate Students in Their Territory, Being the First Reader for Their Pool of Students, Reading Applications of Other Applicants, and Helping to Yield Students who Have Been Admitted to RIT
Initiative Management: Overseeing 1-3 International Enrollment Initiatives or Projects.
Graduate Admissions Ambassador: Articulating RIT's Value to Potential Graduate Students During Travel, and Partnering With Graduate Caseload Managers to Cultivate Candidates
Work Across The University: Staying Current on Developments at RIT, Networking with Colleagues To Support Admissions Work, and Supporting On-Campus Admissions Events
Professional Development: Staying Current with Changes in the Enrollment Management Industry and Higher Education
Department/College Description
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree Minimum of 4 years in enrollment management and/or marketing with global populations from different cultures and backgrounds
Skills:
Interest and demonstrated experience in working in a multi-cultural setting
High level understanding of current issues, trends, and opportunities in international higher education marketing and recruitment
Demonstrated success in achieving goals.
Demonstrated ability to use data and information for decision-making, establishing and monitoring goals, conducting market research, and assessment.
Customer focus, strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated experience using online communication tools including social media, websites, interactive media.
Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced and goal oriented environment.
Willingness to travel and engage in international markets.
