The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), headquartered in Portage, MI, is searching for a Director of Education. ABAI’s mission is to contribute to the well-being of society by developing, enhancing, and supporting the growth and vitality of the science of behavior analysis through research, education, and practice.
The Director of Education provides leadership, guidance, and coordination for academic programs seeking accreditation and recognition. The Director recruits qualified programs, provides supports through the application process, and manages program maintenance and adherence to standards. The Director supports the education board and relevant committees, facilitates the quality review process, recruits, and manages external reviewers, and prepares reports. The Director manages a small department and reports to the Executive Director.
Perform due diligence needed for decision-making, including ongoing analysis of trends, data, reports, and cost benefits analysis.
Support board meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, and prepare formal notification correspondences.
Communicate board decisions to programs, issue resources and guidance documents, and facilitate information from the programs to the boards and committees.
Educate constituencies about accreditation, and disseminate outcomes of accredited and recognized programs.
Remain current on industry standards in accreditation and external recognition, licensure and certification, and the higher education landscape.
Analyze program data and trends, prepare reports for dissemination, research and analyze program operations.
Publish program information, and updates, and prepare reports for newsletters and the web.
Manage new applications, renewals, and annual reports.
Maintain external recognition, report to stakeholders, and remain current with international developments.
Aid and manage initiatives of relevant committees.
Manage, assess, and propose budgets for the department.
Education
Doctoral degree in behavior analysis, psychology, higher education leadership, or related discipline
Required Skills
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, most importantly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
An excellent understanding of the higher education landscape
Ability to exhibit leadership, initiative, enthusiasm and collaboration with faculty and staff in the execution of the responsibilities of the position
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Ability to manage a department budget
Ability to facilitate work teams and committees
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Ability to prioritize tasks
