The Secretary in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) will work closely with the OSA Event Planner & Admin Support to assist the advising staff in the College of Nursing. Support will be accomplished by coordinating and initiating a wide range of activities to facilitate the OSA functioning while integrating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) values. For example, compile, verify, process, and analyze complex, specialized department information/data; independently renders decisions; resolve problems; interpret information; apprise customers of appropriate actions to facilitate the functioning of the department. In addition, provide travel, clerical, program, and technical support for the OSA Specialists (Academic, Admissions, and Recruitment staff members).
Receive, collect, and process complex and diverse information, such as budgets, invoices or data summaries, and meeting notes/reports.
Independently renders decisions to coordinate day-to-day operations, request specific actions, and provide information for students, parents, staff, external agencies, and visitors.
Assist in developing, implementing, maintaining, updating, and suggesting strategic improvements within office policies and procedures, emergency procedures, etc.
Supports team members with efficient, timely coordination of inter-departmental and collaborative meetings, in person, via Zoom or Teams, etc., and assists with travel arrangements and accounting.
Prepare meeting rooms (virtual and in person), AV and other technology-related needs, and monitor supplies.
This is an on campus position between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday with a few evening/weekends required for events hosted by the Office of Student Affairs.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge generally acquired through a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation and webpage software; typing and filing; maintaining accounting ledgers; may require knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical knowledge or training related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be dedicated to integration of DEI in their work interactions and documents.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Shar Point, Teams, and Outlook, and proficiency or ability to become proficient in any College of Nursing databases
Familiarity with Enterprise Business Systems (EBS)
Knowledge of University policies and procedures
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality concerning all matters relating to students (prospect, current, and alums), including, but not limited to, applicant data, student academic records, personal information, etc.
Cross-and intercultural communication fluency
Ability to work well with a diverse group of people
Ability to lift 25+ lbs
Valid driver’s license
