Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Life and Enrollment and working collaboratively with the Director of Undergraduate Admission and the Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, the Director of International Enrollment and Services will develop, implement, and execute enrollment strategies and provide operational leadership to International Enrollment to achieve the university enrollment goals. This position will utilize an extensive network of on- and off-campus resources including alumni, government and non-government organizations, recruiting agencies, institutional partners, key faculty contacts, and key contacts from East Tennessee State University (ETSU). This position will supervise staff and work closely with academic departments and student support units to develop and execute strategy driving the recruitment, retention, and graduation of international students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leads, plans, and implements the international student enrollment strategy for the university.
Lead, manage, supervise, and support the professional team of Designated School Officials (DOS) and the Principle Designated School Official (PDSO) responsible for maintaining Student Exchange and Visitors Program (SEVP) laws and regulations.
Lead, manage, supervise, and support the professional team for international recruitment, undergraduate processing/admissions, and student support and retention.
Leads ongoing research on best practices and innovative policies for international student recruitment, enrollment, and retention; presents reports to academic and administrative units and promotes improvements and adjustments to policies and practices or the creation of new policies or practices that will better serve the needs of international students and promote their success.
Review existing and proposed relationships of programs with international student recruitment agencies and make recommendations for new contracts/relationships and changes to existing ones. This includes monitoring the number and quality of students applying to and being admitted to each program at ETSU.
Provides ongoing up-to-date international student enrollment training for appropriate ETSU staff and faculty.
Leads international student recruitment and events, attending programs organized by other entities designed to recruit international students to ETSU, and providing recommendations for website updates to better attract the attention of international students.
Leads the team to remain current with all regulations and policies from SEVIS and other governmental entities regarding the recruitment and retention of international students.
Leads the team to support student transition and retention for international students through services and programs.
Collaborates with Institutional Research to develop meaningful and insightful international recruitment-related dashboards for metrics review.
Collaborates with University Advancement to engage alumni globally.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience working with recruitment agencies including working with international student recruitment agents and other agencies such as Applyboard, Shorelight, INTO, Study Group, etc.
Experience working with international students.
Ability to travel for work, including international travel, and have a valid passport or ability to obtain one within 8 weeks of employment.
