To be considered for admission to Guttman Community College, applicants are required to participate in a multi-step process designed to help them make informed and intentional decisions as they begin their transition to higher education. In preparation for its long-term expansion to enroll between 3,000 and 5,000 students, the Office of Admissions is seeking a highly reliable and energetic Assistant Director of Admissions, Recruitment, & Outreach to support outreach activities prospective students and their families.
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director will be part of a collaborative, student-centered team who celebrates innovative approaches in higher ed, and find joy and pride in admissions work. The Assistant Director will be a team player that upholds the highest standard of the institution and is integral to the success of the Division of Enrollment Management in reaching its enrollment goals. The successful candidate will work closely with Marketing & Communications to ensure all visitor programs, materials, and spaces communicate key messages and uphold Guttman???s quality and brand standards. The Assistant Director represents the College at high school and community events and college fairs and participates in campus-based admissions activities. They will cultivate and maintain relationships with counselors from high schools and community-based organizations to generate inquiries from prospective students and facilitate their admission to and enrollment in the College. The Assistant Director will work closely with departments across the College to ensure a seamless transition for entering students.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, this position will specifically be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Oversee outreach activities for prospective students and their families in the five boroughs and other areas as assigned; Oversee activities related to successfully implement Guttman Information Sessions
Counsel and advise prospective students on the admissions process as well as their academic goals
Coordinate the Annual Counselor Reception, to inform High School and Community Based Organization counselors of Guttman's unique admissions process and to determine if Guttman is the right fit for their students.
Term activate and matriculate committed students.
Manage the CRM and further implementation of CRM for the success of engagement, recruitment, communications, and enrollment
In collaboration with the Director of Admission work on enrollment reporting processes
Develop an annual calendar of events and programs; maintain a database of program leadership and participation.
Modify and continuously improve program materials in response to feedback and annual institutional strategic planning
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
Advanced degree in Counseling, Social Work, Student Development, Student Affairs, or a directly related discipline preferred
Experience working with underprepared high school or college students from diverse cultures/backgrounds, with sensitivity to their unique personal, economic and social needs, in an educational setting strongly preferred;
Experience using CRMs, and other standard higher education industry admissions and recruiting systems/tools, including CRM, web-based, and online applications;
Multi-lingual with excellent presentation and group facilitation skills;
Strong writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work and interact effectively and collaboratively with a diverse community of learners, students, faculty, staff, and external constituencies in a large centralized public university system;
Ability to work successfully in a multi-faceted, fast-paced, time-sensitive, and demanding student-focused and responsive operation serving both internal and external constituents;
Ability to work evening hours and occasional weekends
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Conducts and coordinates student recruiting and other admissions activities.
Counsels prospective, transfer, and current students on their academic goals and how they may be achieved at the College, and assists them in preparing academic plans
Provides referrals to other College departments as needed to further assist student/applicant
Conducts follow-up with students from inquiry stage to registration
Reviews applications and provides preliminary recommendations on admissions
Participates in recruitment programs such as open house sessions, and direct recruiting activities
Performs related duties as assigned.

If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted.
