The Associate Director for Honors Advising Practice (ADHAP) provides leadership and support in three main areas: 1) University-wide Honors advising, 2) Honors Orientation, and 3) Honors admissions. In the first area, the ADHAP sets standards and expectations for Honors advising across the University, including articulating best practices, providing on-boarding and training for Academic Advisors across the University, mentoring and supervising Academic Advisors in the Honors Program, and communicating the values and goals of Honors advising across the University. In the second area, the ADHAP performs the external communication and negotiation functions with the Office of Transition Experiences and the larger University Orientation apparatus. In the third area, the ADHAP participates in a variety of recruitment, admissions, and retention exercises for both incoming, first-year students and post-freshman admits to the Honors Program. Remote-work arrangements of up to two days a week are possible.
Supervise 4–6 UHP Academic Advisors (25%)
Oversee HR processes (advancement, flextime, FMLA, hiring) for Honors Advisors.
Direct university-level advising experience.
Direct professional development opportunities and training for Honors advisors.
Coordinate and direct liaison duties of honors advising team with departments and colleges.
Advise partial caseload of Honors students (25%)
Administrative leadership of advising services (25%)
Provide visioning and comprehensive planning for Honors advising across the University.
