The American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI) is seeking an Assistant Director of Programs. This is a full-time, exempt, and remote position.
The Assistant Director will support the operations and the programs of the American Academic Leadership Institute, managing aspects of Institute programs, including logistics and technology. Our successful candidate will organize logistics and communications for onsite programs and will also coordinate and help to design the online offerings. This is a small team where mutual trust and reliability are paramount.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING We seek a partner who understands the best practices in programming and leadership development. Integrity, warmth, and a passion for our work will be demonstrated in both creativity and in attention to detail. Excellent communication will be demonstrated in regular communication with both team members and program participants. The ability to manage multiple programs with several groups of participants requires flexibility, patience, and a healthy sense of humor.
The mission of AALI is to work with higher education professionals to enhance leadership capacity to address current issues in higher education successfully. It will be beneficial if you have at least a bachelor's degree (or even a master's degree) and employment experience at a college, university, or higher education-related organization. Those experiences are helpful in understanding the programs and developing an affinity with participants. In addition, a commitment to cultivating and expanding the leadership capabilities of our diverse members is essential.
The successful applicant must have robust and reliable internet capabilities. In addition, excellent proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and other online platforms is required. A willingness to seek technical and programmatic solutions is important, and instructional design experience is preferred.
COMPENSATION The compensation for this position will be $70,000-$75,000 per year. We provide flexibility, grace, and a work environment where you cherish your colleagues and the work we do.

TIME REQUIREMENTS This position is remote, allowing the Assistant Director to work from anywhere, roughly on an east coast workday. There is some flexibility that can be discussed if you are selected for interviews. Availability for travel is required, particularly during the months of June and July. Other selected meetings and conferences at various points during the year will require the Assistant Program Director's attendance.
