Under the direction of the Program Manager of Entry Advising, this position will: ESSENTIAL TASKS: Customer Service and Welcome Desk (75%)
Provide a welcoming, professional, and inclusive environment for prospective, new, and current students, staff, and visitors at the Welcome Desk;
Greet visitors at the Welcome Desk and respond to inquiries related to general information about the college and the college entry process;
Respond to phone and email inquiries related to Advising and Enrollment Services in a timely manner;
Monitor and maintain switchboard operations;
Provide general administrative support for the department, such as checking in students for appointments, and preparing materials for meetings;
Support the Program Manager of Admissions & Student Welcome in maintaining the schedule and training of student and part-time workers;
Participate and provide support for planning of new student orientations and workshops.
Coordinate regularly with other departments on campus to ensure the accuracy of information provided at the Welcome Desk;
Perform other duties as required related to the successful on-boarding of new students.
Enrollment Services and Administrative Support (25%)
Participate as a member of the Advising and Enrollment Services in supporting unit operations to include processing and facilitating enrollment transactions, and preparing notifications and communications;
Participate in training and activities related to the ctcLink project and Guided Pathways;
Handle confidential information in compliance with FERPA regulations;
Oversee and update student records with data related to Entry Advising and Explore Highline Orientation
Demonstrate exceptional customer service that supports the department's goal of creating an inclusive, supportive environment for new students;.
Take initiative and utilize problem-solving skills;
Provide clear and professional oral and written communication;
Work both independently and as a collaborative member of a team;
Demonstrate strong organizational skills with an ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize time and projects, and balance a heavy workload;
Maintain the confidentiality of protected or sensitive information;
Navigate an electronic environment; must be experienced with Microsoft products and Google applications.
Associate's degree; AND
Two years of experience providing assistance to clients/customers regarding inquiries, complaints or problems;
Experience with PeopleSoft;
Fluency in languages other than English;
Familiarity with Student Services in a higher-education setting.
