The Kimmel Student Involvement Center at SIUE is seeking dynamic and engaging candidates to fill a full-time Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life position. As part of the part of the Division of Student Affairs at SIUE, the Kimmel Student Involvement Center (KSIC) is the focal point of student involvement and campus life at SIUE. The SIUE Fraternity and Sorority Life community within KSIC has been offering a premier leadership development experience since 1961 with organizations who are committed to living up to the values of the institution and their organization. The community is home to 21 (inter)national organizations (11 fraternities and 10 sororities) all with different missions, purposes, and experiences, governed by four student-led executive boards.
The Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) is responsible for the overall supervision, management, and development of the Fraternity and Sorority Life program. The selected candidate will advise, develop, monitor, and assess these organizations as well as provide strategic direction for the program. This position is responsible for the planning, execution, and assessment for programs including, but not limited to: Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment, IFC Fraternity Recruitment, NPHC/UGC Membership Intake programs, Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards, and the annual Fraternity and Sorority Life accreditation/standards process as well as oversee community risk management and prevention education. Additionally, the Assistant Director will direct the work of the graduate assistant for fraternity and sorority life as well as general office support staff.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department. The Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life will work with all levels of administration, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the student population, and is expected to provide exceptional professional guidance at all times. Applicants must be able to work successfully with diverse populations. Due to the professional obligations of this position, frequent evening and weekend hours may be required.
