Job Summary/Basic Function:
This position will provide leadership for and contribute to the mission and goals of Residence Life & Housing. The Associate Director must be self-directed and team-oriented. This role oversees the student housing process and supervises live-in professional staff within the office. Within this live-on position, the Associate Director will work to promote a community that fosters learning, promotes inclusion and self-governance, and seeks engagement from its members in collaboration with other members of Residence Life & Housing, Campus LIfe, and the Division of Student Life. As an engaged member of the campus community, the Associate Director will also develop and cultivate relationships with students, faculty, and staff across the College and have a good working knowledge of the residential liberal arts environment.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate all student housing processes, including the annual room selection/assignment process, break/transitional housing, and weekly occupancy reports, as well as collaborate with Access & Disability Services on housing accommodations.
Directly supervise, manage, and evaluate four masters-level professional live-in Area Coordinators. Assist with recruitment, selection, and training of professional staff. Assist the Executive Director of Campus Life with strategic leadership and daily administration for a dynamic residential program including administrative, programmatic, and facility functions in accordance with the division and department's strategic plan to enhance the student experience.
Respond to student, family, and community concerns through engaging in conversations, providing referrals, and collaborating with offices on and off campus to assure the concerns are addressed.
Work collaboratively with other college offices/departments, community partners, and neighbors to coordinate the development of partnerships for delivery of programs and service to residential areas, including oversight of the Special Interest Housing program.
Implement response to crisis within residential communities in collaboration with appropriate college partners. Fulfill 24/7 on-call responsibilities in rotation with 4 other staff members for the residential campus which includes being available at all hours for crisis intervention and support, and acting as the administrator on call.

Master's Degree – Counseling, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or related field and 3 to 5 Years of professional experience in residence life or student housing
**Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in residence life or student housing may substitute for a Master's Degree.
