The Director provides administrative management and leadership for the Office Records & Registration in collaboration with other divisional administrators and in a manner consistent with established college policies and procedures. Oversees the daily operations of the Office of Records & Registration district wide providing support, leadership and planning for the functionality of the office as well as act as a liaison to other academic and student service areas. The Director is expected to exhibit initiative, enthusiasm, and teamwork in accomplishing the responsibilities of the position.
• Provide oversight of the Records & Registration division under Enrollment Services, , including supervision of full and part time staff as directed. • Work collaboratively to achieve departmental, divisional, and institutional initiatives, nurturing positive relationships within the unit as well as within the college overall. • Provide oversight for specialized services within Records & Registration, such as Selective Admissions, Macomb2Oakland & Wayne Advantage Macomb programs, transfer credit, registration – credit and Workforce & Continuing Education (WCE), transcript services and graduation/degree audit processes for credit and WCE, recommending improvements as appropriate. • Assist with maintaining FERPA compliance college wide. • Provide oversight and leads the Reverse Transfer processes and procedures at the college. • Provide oversight and leads the National Student Clearinghouse processes and procedures at the college. • Provide leadership, oversight and resolution of registration/student/departmental matters in regard to the Workforce & Continuing Education Registration product (LUMENS). • Provide oversight for Multiple Semester Registration processes and communications. • Achieve understanding of the use and capabilities of Ellucian Colleague and other databases which supports the college, recommending improvements based on best practices to enhance office productivity and management. • Direct development and preparation of divisional reporting for federal, state and college purposes. • Develop and update documentation for operating procedure manuals for all departmental processing, including oversight of a departmental communications plan to ensure all records and registration staff are current and updated on regulations, policies, practices, and significant developments. • Develop and manage enrollment reports using Business Intelligence Reporting and Analytics software as directed. • Act as liaison between Records & Registration and the IT department at the college. • Achieve understanding of and implement all appropriate labor contract provisions and personnel policies in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources. • Select, recommend and evaluate full and part time staff in accordance with college policies and provisions of labor agreements as directed. • Design, encourage, promote and oversee a comprehensive professional development and training plan for all levels of records and registration staff as well as other college staff who need training on enrollment systems. • Meet with students to discuss problems or complaints and assists in devising equitable responses and solutions as directed. • Conduct appropriate research, gather and interpret data and prepare analytical reports both unique to the department/division and in collaboration with the institutional research, planning or other appropriate offices to advance strategic initiatives. • Monitor customer service initiatives that may include but not be limited to student feedback, staff input, training and institutional benchmarking.• • Assist in planning and development of educational specifications for physical facilities for construction or remodeling. • Proactively pursue entrepreneurial activities which benefit the department, division and institution. • Represent the college as assigned in the areas of enrollment trends, transfer credit/transfer programs, transcript services, registration , degree audit, selective admissions and FERPA. • Be an active participant in the college governance process, including membership in standing committees and ad hoc committees; participate as an active member in cross-functional teams or committees as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Master’s degree required.
Seven years work experience related to the position in a client server student systems environment. Minimum of five years of administrative and/or management experience in Enrollment Services, Records & Registration/Registrar’s environment, such as student records, registration services, transfer credit, transcript services or degree audits in a higher education setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, etc.). Working knowledge of client server student systems (e.g., Ellucian/Colleague preferred). Familiarity with programming and systems analysis appropriate to the job. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Skill in problem solving. Strong organizational skills.
