Advertised Job Summary:
Reporting to Medical Director, the Assistant Director for Primary Care provides direct high quality patient care in a patient-centered medical home and college health environment. This is a combined clinical and administrative position within the Primary Care Department of Student Health Services (SHS). The majority of the time is devoted to clinical care as the lead of one of four primary care teams. This includes provision of medical oversight to advanced practice providers, nursing and support staff within the care team. The position also includes a portion of dedicated administrative time to support the Medical Director by assisting with day-to-day decision making, oversight of provider scheduling adjustments and performing administrative tasks such as approval of provider leave requests and annual performance evaluations. Participates in the formulation of departmental goals and strategic initiatives.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of a primary care residency (Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or comparable) or completion of a non-primary care residency and a minimum of 2 years experience in primary care or emergency/urgent care practice. Board certified in area of specialty and maintain board certification throughout employment. Licensed or eligible (unrestricted) to practice medicine in the State of South Carolina. DEA Certificate and SC Controlled substances certificate are required. Obtain and maintain credentialing, privileging and board certification throughout employment. CPR and ACLS certification required.
