The person in this position will assist the Financial Aid Director in administering federal and state financial aid programs including advising students on financial aid programs, application processing, and packaging and awarding of financial aid eligibility. The person in this position will process verification paperwork and make corrections to student ISIRs. The person in this position will manage the student employment program. This position will also correspond with various government agencies and perform other duties as assigned. At least Two (2) years of prior experience working in financial aid/student affairs;
Knowledge of Minnesota and Federal financial aid regulations and guidelines;
Knowledge of and the ability to use the Federal Student Aid's relations databases and applications;
Knowledge of and ability to follow FERPA regulations;
Effective written and verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel;
Demonstrated inter-cultural competency.
Associate's or Bachelor's in in Education or Higher Education, or any related field;
Three (3) or more years of prior work experience working in a financial aid office;
Previous ISRS experience;
Ability to identify problems and resolve FAFSA data discrepancies;
Knowledge of the Minnesota State System and college policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations;
Working knowledge of current student information system (Integrated Student Records System), ImageNow, Minnesota State System related Web Communications and U.Achieve;
Commitment to college to become an Anti-Racist and Trauma -Informed institution.
