We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator who will provide reliable and accurate payroll and timekeeping operations for 200 + Bargaining Unit (BU) employees and 55+ staff. This hybrid (in-person and remote) position on the Homewood Campus reports to the Sr. HR / Payroll Coordinator (SrHR/PC) in University Student Services and will be part of a support team committed to excellence in customer service. Will ensure efficient payroll support for the JHU Dining Department. Will perform a variety of tasks related to payroll problem resolution. Assist with special events and other projects as needed and directed by the SrHR/PC and USS HR Leadership.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Administer weekly payroll in Ceridian HCM (Dayforce) for 200 + BU employees which includes documentation, processing, maintaining, and reporting.
Serve as payroll transaction initiator, approver, and consultant as appropriate.
Act as primary point of contact for payroll operations. Advise on payroll policies and procedures. Support BU employees by ensuring hours are appropriately tracked and reported and that all federal/state regulations followed.
Process promotions, transfers, reclassifications, salary increases, overtime, step increases, additional wage premiums and update employment status as required.
Process and manage tracking for SAP Internal Service Requests (ISR).
Assist supervisors with correct coding of electronic time keeping system for non-bargaining unit staff (e210) on a regular basis to ensure the accuracy of payroll and the University's time keeping system.
Serve as the e210 timekeeping system administrator ensuring appropriate access is granted. Ensure leave codes are used correctly (accrued sick or vacation, short/long term disability, leave without pay or other leaves of absence).
Work with Managers and Supervisors to properly document and track absences.
Run various types of reports in Dayforce and e210 to audit payroll hours, time clock activities and verify and resolve discrepancies. Format and combine Dayforce with data in e210 for ad hoc reporting for department, division and Central HR needs.
Set-up work schedules and supervisor information for new e210 records. Run various reports to verify monthly completion and submission requirements and to evaluate how different kinds of time is used/available based on coding. Cross reference data with payroll information and HR documents (FMLA, STD, Workers Comp).
Identify, research and resolve complex payroll problems.
Work with the SrHR/PC to develop and document standard operating procedures; analyze payroll processes to identify areas for improvements and streamlining.
Develop efficient electronic and paper record keeping systems to track a significantly high volume of electronic and paper payroll transactions ensuring security of information.
Complete paperwork related to Family Medical Leave or JHU Personal Leave of Absence.
Assist with employee overpayment process.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll related information.

Three years' experience with coordinating payroll and/or human resources administration activities.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
SAP experience of ISR document processing and Analysis reporting.
Experience with Ceridian HCM (Dayforce) for payroll.
Bargaining Unit experience providing or coordinating HR and payroll services.
Processing high volume payroll deadlines.
