Residential Services serves over 4,000 students in on-campus housing. The Access Control Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of undergraduate access control. Through strong collaboration and communication across the department and division, this position works to support and enhance the student and guest experience. The Access Control Coordinator also contributes to seasonal programs, such as Opening, Closing, and Summer Conferences.
Manages day-to-day access operations
Ensures that program/project mission, values, guidelines, policies, and procedures are implemented and maintained
Manage Persona (access for staff, software, hardware, and troubleshoot with facilities and Assa Abloy on issues)
Coordinate Millennium access for all residential facilities with the Lock Shop.
Manage expansion of electronic keys in residential facilities
Manage accountability of temporary keys with Area Desk Clerks
Provides supplemental access training, support, feedback, and guidance to Desk Clerks as directed by the Assistant Director of Operations and Services
Manage access control for residential spaces
Identifies service improvement opportunities that will better enable program/project to achieve its goals and objectives
Communication, Recruitment, and Outreach 15%
Liaises with Wildcard and Lock Shop offices
Provide training for all Residential Services staff and campus partners as applicable
Manages access control for summer conference guests
Participate in duty rotation, serving approximately 6,000 summer conference guests, and perform on-duty responsibilities for the duration of the summer conference season
Works on seasonal projects to support operations, including but not limited to Opening, Closing, and Dillo Day
Strategic Planning 10%
Analyze access-related data to assist in program/project development and updates
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
1 year program/project administration or other relevant experience.
Excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and administrative skills.
Experience working with diverse populations in a college setting;
Crisis intervention and management, conflict resolution
Effective written and oral communication skills;
Experience in developing and managing inventory systems and procedures in a creative, organized manner
