We are seeking a Student Developmental Specialist who will assist with the planning, development and implementation of student development initiatives, including academic and financial aid advisement, career and transfer planning, and student activities programming.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties
Provide Individual and group counseling to students. Services include: academic advisement, career development and transfer assistance
Develop programs and activities that integrate advising with career and life planning
Provide career development workshops
Maintain accurate records of student caseload
Assist with enrollment activities including admissions and financial aid counseling, placement test administration, advisement and registration
Perform other duties assigned by Director of the Passaic Academic Center
Master's degree in Student Development, Counseling, Education, or related field
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and cultural setting
Minimum of one year of student development experience
Knowledge of Datatel preferred
Some evening and week-end hours will be required
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
