Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Undergraduate Advising and Success and receiving work lead direction from the Access Center Director, the Retention and Graduation Advisor will work independently under limited supervision to provide academic advising and related student services for undergraduates in all majors in the College, and to significantly improve the College’s 4-year graduation rate for freshmen and 2-year graduation rate for transfers and to close identified achievement gaps. The specialist will provide leadership and coordination of advising and programs in support of student retention, including proactive outreach and support to targeted student populations who do not meet established benchmarks. These efforts will be informed and supported by the research literature and established best practices, program assessment, data analysis and interpretation, and written reports as needed. Finally, the specialist will serve as a liaison to departments in support of their efforts to improve student outcomes and experience.
