The basics of this position:
Responsible for the hiring and supervision of direct reports, provides input into hiring of professional and associate tutors when appropriate, has total oversight of campus-wide Academic Success & Tutoring services. Duties include providing budget oversight and assessment of program effectiveness for all tutoring areas and handling of student concerns or issues. Works collaboratively with faculty, other departments, and divisions including Student Affairs, Assessment, and other campus Academic Success & Tutoring managers. Performs marketing responsibilities and supports online education initiatives.
What you'll do:
• Manages and administers activities of Academic Success & Tutoring Services, including, but not limited to, budget oversight, daily operations and staff leadership. • Assesses, monitors, and evaluates students’ academic support needs. Collaborates with academic faculty and staff to develop and supply appropriate tutoring services, coaching activities, and other academic support programs. • Addresses reported complaints and criticisms related to tutoring services. • Develops operating procedures and policies. Determines and develops appropriate staffing for service hours. • Conducts assessments of program effectiveness related to retention and coursework. • Collaborates with academic departments and academic divisions to ensure programs and services align with departmental and college expectations. • Responsible for budget planning and management. Develops, recommends, presents, implements, and manages the Academic Success & Tutoring operating budget. Reviews and approves routine purchases and identifies capital needs. • Participates in program planning and implementation. • Explores, promotes and implements tools and technologies to engage student learning, enhance literacy initiatives and support online education initiatives. • Participates and implements best practices to advertise and promote Academic Success & Tutoring programs and services. • Represents Academic Success & Tutoring on various committees. • Identifies and coordinates training and development for professional tutors, associate tutors and Academic Success & Tutoring staff. • Performs normal supervisory functions.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
Master’s degree or equivalent and over three (3) years of relevant full-time experience.
