Reports directly to the Chair of the Division of Teacher Education and works closely with the Director of Clinical Experiences to assure teacher candidates have opportunity to experience high-quality, diverse P-12 educational settings that allow them to develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to demonstrate positive impact on all P-12 students’ learning. Primary duties include determining and completing placements for teacher education candidates into assigned partner districts and schools; collaborating with faculty, staff, and students in developing processes that promote effective student clinical experiences based on state requirements and available school sites for clinical experiences; and continually evaluating current placement processes and sites for continuous improvement. The position works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Experiences to coordinate placement activities. This position is part of th e Office of Student Placement team within the Division of Teacher Education.
Three to five years of experience in K-12 education work or in higher education. Prior experience working with electronic assessment systems.
Coordinates the process for student teaching application and placement by reviewing and updating the Clinical Practice Handbook and other Clinical Practice forms and templates as necessary each year in consultation with the Director of Clinical Experiences, Chairs, and Program Directors.
Reviews data on candidate fieldwork experiences to ensure clinical practice placement request is for a different setting
Completes placement request creation by taking finalized cleared candidate list through mail merge processes to final placement request letters and forms that are submitted to the Director of Clinical Experiences for review and approval.
Disseminates placement requests to partner districts and schools and continually follows up with contacts in partner districts and schools on status of placement requests until all placements are confirmed. Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Experiences as changes to placement requests need to be made and disseminated.
Keeps current on all Memorandums of Understanding to ensure Office of Student Placements is following all processes and procedures as required of partner districts.
Coordinates mentor/mentee matches with the Director of Clinical Experiences and communicates mentee information to University Mentors in a timely manner to ensure teacher candidates have support throughout their clinical experience
Coordinates placements dates based on district calendars in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Experiences
Provides excellent customer service to partner districts and schools throughout the placement process
Collaborates closely with colleagues to ensure timely communication with candidates around placements
Keeps web page for Office of Student Placements updated with information relevant to candidates, faculty, university mentors, and master teachers
Keeps all forms and templates up to date (i.e., clinical practice application, sample principal letters, clinical practice handbooks) in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Experiences
Maintains up to date information on University Mentors qualifications and contact to facilitate matching of mentors and candidates in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Experiences
Ensures appropriate compensation for University Mentors occurs in a timely manner by initiating Mentor contracts in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Experiences
Ensures appropriate compensation for Master Teachers occurs in a timely manner by facilitation the master teacher stipend process in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Experiences

Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration to increase efficiency in the areas of clinical experiences.
Performs other duties related to the job as assigned by supervisor.
Proficiency in Microsoft office products, including Word and Excel.
Ability to use computer, data systems in the School of Education, and spreadsheets with skill and accuracy.
Written and oral communication skills to prepare clear, accurate correspondence and reports and to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in person, by phone, or by email.
Ability to collaborate and a commitment to a team-based approach.

Grade 7: $19.49 - $25.33
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity
