University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, Arts and Science plays a significant role working with the Senior Director of Alumni Relations, Arts and Science to increase and maintain alumni engagement through various means of communication, programs, and events. The Assistant Director is responsible for the execution of the department's strategic direction and day-to-day support of the FAS Alumni Relations Office. The Assistant Director collaborates with the CAS Advising and Deans Offices on alumni-student programming and initiatives, and is responsible for managing several College Alumni Association Board volunteer committees. The Assistant Director works closely with the University Alumni Relations team on communications and related events and also helps the FAS Development staff to identify and cultivate prospects through interviews, profiles, and online features.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Master's degree
Required Experience: Three to five years+ progressively responsible experience in a higher education environment, including in alumni relations, admissions, student services, fundraising, or related field
Preferred Experience: Related experience in an academic institution preferred
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to envision, strategize, and assist with building constituency programs and activities
Strong planning and implementation experience
Must be highly persuasive with excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and motivating and developing volunteer leadership
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience with desktop publishing software (i.e., Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
