The Lewis Honors College at the University of Kentucky is pleased to invite applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure eligible colleague, as the Ruth Jones Lewis Faculty Scholar in Entrepreneurship, a senior lecturer position, beginning in Fall 2023. The contract is for two years and renewable.
The Senior Lecturer’s primary job responsibility will be teaching classes focused on entrepreneurship and / or economics to undergraduate honors students from various majorscourses should investigate economic problems, principles, and practices in ways that help students develop their intellectual, practical, and social skills. Other duties may include working with students in the University’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship or the Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise, developing internship and job placement opportunities, and offering special programs and activities related to the candidate’s expertise. While the specific academic home and teaching responsibilities for the position will be in the Lewis Honors College, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to cultivate a mutually beneficial academic relationship with a department in the Gatton College of Business and Economics (such as Management, Economics, or Finance and Quantitative Methods) that aligns with their qualifications and interests. The ideal candidate will have extensive (5+ years) teaching experience, significant managerial and/or entrepreneurial experience, and educational credentials that include an advanced degree (such as an MBA, juris doctorate, or PhD in Management, Economics, Finance, or related academic fields). Dedication to Honors education and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
The position’s distribution of effort will be 75% teaching, 18% program administration, 5% research/scholarship, and 2% Professional Development.
