Reporting directly to the Director of Finance for Student Affairs, the Finance & Administrative Operations Manager will ensure efficiency, continuity and effectiveness of the daily operations for Wellness & Student Success Units within Student Affairs (University Health and Counseling Services, We Care, Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, Disability Resource Center, and Office of University Equity and Compliance). This includes budget management, financial transactions, bill processing and reporting, processing facilities maintenance, maintaining office and health clinic supplies, and other key operations. The Finance & Administrative Operations Manager is responsible for developing effective systems to support the overall success of the Wellness & Student Success Units. They prepare monthly unit forecast exercises and quarterly reviews of expenditures and projections for each unit. In addition, they are responsible for reviewing and ensuring appropriateness and accuracy of expenditures and compliance to all University policy and procedures. They provide training and consultation to managers and departmental staff on Concur, fiscal policy, and procedures. They must be able to communicate professionally and effectively both orally and in writing on behalf of the units and will manage relations with key constituents, frequently communicating with Accounts Payable, Procurement, Office of General Counsel, and Treasury. The Finance & Administrative Operations Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all essential matters pertaining to the Wellness & Student Success Units, and act as a liaison between the Directors and senior leaders, the Sr. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs executive team, external partners, and other stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4-6 years relevant work experience.
Previous experience in a higher education clinical setting preferred.
Individual must have strong organizational, communication (both oral and written), and interpersonal skills-all with a high level of attention to detail.
Knowledge of University programs used such as Banner, PeopleAdmin, Cognos, Concur Expense Reporting preferred.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Must be astute, able to perform a variety of tasks, able to work with confidential information, and prioritize tasks and demands.
Must display the ability to think and act in support of the interests of the Executive Director and the Health Center in the context of a hierarchical administrative environment.
Must be able to work and make decisions independently and exercise discretion and good judgment in areas of responsibility.
Must display the ability to make executive decisions quickly, communicate professionally and effectively in a busy and richly diverse college health setting.
|Must be creative, proactive, adaptive, assertive and able to work in a changing environment.
Must have excellent computer skills, experience with both PCs and Macs, projection equipment and conferencing programs, and advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.-and familiarity with mobile technology (iPhones, iPads, etc.).
