About the Department
Our Resident Education and Development team is responsible for providing leadership in the development of a positive community within the residence communities. Our goal is to be a partner in students' educational journey through an intentional, educational and vibrant residential experience!
The Assistant Director of Training & Development in Resident Education and Development sits on the leadership team of the department and directly supervises 2 full-time Area Coordinators who manages neighborhoods of campus. This live off campus position is responsible for setting a vision for staff training bi-annually, supporting the hall staff with execution of various training seasons, as well as oversees the ongoing professional development of our entire department. The Assistant Director should have a strong ability to network across campus as well as regionally to provide opportunities for professional development both for student and full-time staff in RED. The Assistant Director serves on the management team on-call duty rotation and may be responsible for responding to after-hours crises or support.
Assist in the development and recommendation of policies and procedures.
Assist in the development and in implementation of training for all levels of staff in the department.
Serve in after-hours emergency contact rotation with members of the RED Leadership Team.
Liaison with university offices to provide services and training opportunities for professional and student staff.
Prepare reports as requested by director.
Advise department committees on training and development and represent Resident Development at student affairs leadership level meetings as requested by director.
Track RED professional staff development plans.
Coordinate GPS job performance evaluations with HR Coordinator and leadership team.
Bachelor's Degree must be in College Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration or related field.
Five (5) years of experience in Student Personnel, Counseling, higher education or residence hall administration or a related field.
Previous supervisory experience.
