Job Description: What We're Looking For
Baylor University's Truett Seminary is seeking a full-time Manager of Recruitment. As the Manager of Recruitment, you will be responsible for planning, evaluating, implementing, and overseeing recruitment and retention efforts at Baylor's Truett Seminary. You will work collaboratively with the Dean, Assistant Dean of Student Services, Enrollment Management, Admissions, Scholarship Services, Marketing, and other Truett staff to create, oversee, evaluate, and implement plans and strategies that will positively impact seminary student recruitment and retention. In addition, you will meet with and assist prospective and current students daily; train, support, and supervise directors in Houston and San Antonio in their recruitment efforts, the Wesley recruitment coordinator, and the diversity recruitment coordinator. As the Manager of Recruitment you will also train, support, and supervise an Associate team of 5-6 student employees and coordinate with other seminary and university staff as needed. Additionally, a successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Understanding of the needs of a diverse student population within a Christian higher education setting and an openness to cultural humility.
Knowledge of theological education and recruitment skills
Experience working with a variety of students in ministry or higher education experiences
Knowledge of Slate by Technolutions
Be successful communicating and interacting with all campus populations including students, faculty, and staff.
A Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field, a year of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Update, evaluate, and implement a strategic Enrollment Plan annually in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Student Services, Admissions, Marketing, and other staff as needed
Manage daily correspondence with prospective students either by phone, in person, or email regarding questions related to degrees, scholarships, vocation, and the admissions process; advise applicants and prospective students regarding needed documentation for application completion; provide technical support and other solutions to application and enrollment challenges
Update, evaluate, and implement a strategic Baylor Recruitment Plan bi-annually in order to increase brand awareness and the number of inquiries attained from undergraduate students at Baylor University; collaborate with Ministry Guidance, Baylor Undergraduate Admissions, Spiritual Life, and Truett staff to organize and host events for Baylor undergraduate students
Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a team of 5-6 Recruitment Associates; recruit train, motivate, and manage 30-40 Student Recruitment Team members; supervise and train the Coordinator of Recruitment recruiters for the Houston and San Antonio campuses; supervise Wesley House recruitment, including supervising and training the Wesley House recruitment coordinator
Plan, build, manage, and update all drip marketing campaigns, phone calls, and mailers utilizing Slate; oversee, plan, host, and evaluate all prospective student Campus Visits utilizing Slate; oversee, plan, and evaluate recruitment at conferences, graduate school events, seminary days, church events, and denominational meetings
Plan, implement, and evaluate all Waco, Houston, San Antonio, and Baylor Preview events
Develop, maintain, and enhance partnerships with influencers, alumni, and friends of Truett at undergraduate institutions, churches, and Truett-affiliated entities in collaboration with Truett faculty and staff; visit universities and Baptist colleges, Baptist Student Ministries, and churches for the purpose of cultivating relationships with potential students, faculty, and staff
Create, evaluate, and implement a social media and marketing plan bi-annually in collaboration with Marketing in order to utilize strategically social media, digital and traditional marketing, website, brochures, and videos; order, manage, purchase and collaborate on the design of promotional items and materials including, but not limited to, clothing, table cloths, banners, giveaways, posters, billboards, flags, and/or any signs used for recruitment purposes
As necessary, communicate and collaborate recruitment activities with Truett doctoral programs
Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Services to review and award applications and scholarships as needed; assist the Assistant Dean of Student Services in budget planning for recruitment and marketing
Create, update, and distribute recruitment reports as needed to the Admissions Committee; attend Admissions Committee meetings; review, discuss, and consider ATS data related to recruitment strategy; attend ATS SPAN meetings, webinars, and training events as needed; develop applicant and inquiry reports utilizing Slate by Technolutions in collaboration with Truett Admissions
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or dean
