We are seeking a Student Affairs Specialist to perform a variety of tasks that require planning and organization to meet deadlines and quality standards. This position will provide support to the Office of Student Affairs, Office of Disability Services, Office of Student Advocacy and the Office of Career and Transfer Services to ensure the efficient operation of these departments.
This is a part-time, hourly-rate position.
Examples of Duties
Perform routine office functions such as learning College policies and procedures and giving accurate information to callers and visitors, maintaining files including confidential files, maintaining appointment schedules for the Office of Disability Services, Office of Student Advocacy and the Office of Career and Transfer Services
Able to triage the needs of each presenting student, faculty or staff member and refer to the correct office
Perform detailed word processing projects as directed, inclusive of preparing, compiling, and editing reports, memorandums, letters and other documents
Contribute to the development of forms, intake procedures, scheduling of services and record keeping
Assist with and provide support for college-wide activities and events as directed
Assist the Staff Assistant/Student Affairs with all aspects of Graduation
Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Affairs and Services
Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree or enrolled in Master's Degree program preferred
Background in Psychology, Social Work preferred
Background in working with students with disabilities and at risk students
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
