1. Provide confidential, short-term, goal focused, counseling to students who may be experiencing personal difficulties that interfere with their academic success; make referrals as needed.
2. Counsel students on both an appointment and a drop-in/emergency basis in-person and via tele-health.
3. Assist in providing training to the campus community for recognizing and handling students in need of assistance.
4. Provide educational information and related activities campus-wide to increase health and wellness awareness.
5. Works collaboratively with numerous departments across campus, including but not limited to Public Safety, Academic Affairs, Disability Services Office, Student Services.

6. Serves as the primary intake representative for the Mental Health Center.

7. Active member of the college's BIT (Behavioral Intervention Team).
8. Communicate with faculty, staff, and students regarding the services available through the Counseling Center.
9. Maintain records of student contacts and correspondence, with due regard to confidentiality.

10. Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations.

11. Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.

12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or related area required.
2. LCSW or LPC preferred or related licensure and/or advanced certifications.
3. Effective communication skills.
4. Experience working in a higher education institution or with post secondary students preferred.
5. Ability to work with a diverse student population.
6. Access to private vehicle to be able to report to multiple campuses.
7. Experience in counseling a college age population.
8. Experience in mental health evaluations and assessment.
9. Experience in developing professional workshops.
