POSITION DETAILS
The Student Life Manager will report to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Life Manager will be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage the TheDream.US Scholarship program at Hunter College. In collaboration with the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, develop and implement plans to attract and engage qualified students into The Dream.US Scholarship program.
- Manage Emergency scholarship funding programs for students.
- Manage College Food Pantries.
- Co-chair College Commencement Committee.
- Stay current on best practices and innovative approaches for student persistence and retention with a focus on diverse learners.
- Advocate for students and resolve problems or other issues to ensure appropriate services.
- Serve on working groups and/or committees as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and six years related experience required.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent writing, editing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in analytical, statistical research and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to easily develop and maintain collegial working relationships in a complex college community.
- Commitment to the values of a public liberal arts education and appreciation for work in a diverse and urban college community.
VACCINE REQUIREMENT
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
