Workforce Programs Manager- MED: Student Affairs- Sacramento CampusDepartment Description
The School of Medicine received a $1.8 million award from California Medicine Scholars Program to build a pathway from Community College to Undergraduate to Medical School.
This position will work primarily to implement this project as well as other similar innovative workforce pathway programs, in concordance with our institution's Policy on Achieving Workforce Diversity and Institutional Inclusion. The mission of the Education and Workforce Innovation unit is to advance workforce diversity efforts to promote healthcare access and equity for all.

ResponsibilitiesThis Workforce Programs Manager will lead efforts in: (1) partnering with community colleges and undergraduate institutions to design, build, and implement pathway programs to medical school; (2) developing partnerships with community clinical sites; (3) coordinate multi-institutional, multi-professional research across the educational continuum; (4) disseminating best practices through academic/scholarly platforms, websites, social media, etc.; (5) convening leaders and learners around mission-focused medical education; and (6) supporting training to educational institutions and community partners on how to enhance diversity in the healthcare workforce.
Required Qualifications - Highly experienced in program oversight and project management in a leadership capacity with minimal oversight.
- Experience leading teams in developing and implementing research, education, and dissemination programs, documents, and events.
- Demonstrated experience working with undergraduate, post-graduate, and/or professional students.
- Experience with general student advising (academic and personal) and educational programs focused on underrepresented learners in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse learners, particularly African American/Black and American Indian/Native American.
- Demonstrated experience developing a dissemination and communication program, including knowledge and skill to develop traditional and new medical strategy, branding, and messaging.
- Supervisory experience to manage, recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff.
- Skill to analyze diverse information both qualitative and quantitative in nature, and direct/prepare analysis.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to access potentially controversial or sensitive situations, gather facts, data and information, make recommendations for action, and deliver final project, often under short deadlines and pressure.
- Skills and abilities to read, understand, interpret, communicate, and execute applicable School of Medicine, University, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience of Windows OS and Microsoft software programs needed to effectively generate data and produce reports.
Preferred Qualifications: - Several years of experience working in the area of equity, diversity, and inclusion (e.g., diversity training experience, pathway programs experience preferred at the college level or higher); specifically educational program development and implementation of educational programs.
- Demonstration of cultural humility training.
- Experience with Kuali accounting system.
- Experience with Aggie Travel.
- Experience with ZOOM, Doodle Polls, Qualtrics, iMovie, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Experience with pre-award and post-award processes related to grant funding.
Special RequirementsThis position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
