The Office of Institutional Diversity at Oregon State University, is recruiting for an Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Education.
Position Summary
This newly created role will sustain a comprehensive portfolio of educational resources to enable career-long learning for all faculty, staff and students at Oregon State University. The Assistant Director will lead workshops and trainings, facilitate dialogues, and connect learners with educational resources.
The Assistant Director will report to the Director of Institutional Education for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and support the Office of Institutional Diversity in multiple educational endeavors. The Assistant Director will sustain and initiate educational partnerships with Faculty Affairs, Academic Affairs, the Center for Teaching and Learning, University Human Resources, the Division of Student Affairs, the Division of Extension and Engagement, and other university entities.
This position will make decisions related to institutional curriculum and instructional design for professional and organizational development related to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion. This position will utilize research and expertise in adult learning to match learning outcomes and instructional strategies with the developmental needs of diverse learners. This position in many cases will work autonomously to develop learning pathways for professional faculty, classified staff, and student employees. This position will influence institution wide talent and career development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, ethnic studies, sociology or related field, or 4 years commensurate professional experience. Commensurate experience may include professional or volunteer work in adult education, outreach education, program evaluation, non-profit leadership, community organizing, or related endeavors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver educational curriculum and programming related to diversity, equity and inclusion to adult learners
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, nuanced, sensitive topics with tact and diplomacy
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in professional settings
- Demonstrated ability to develop ongoing working relationships with diverse communities
- Demonstrated experience synthesizing information to produce written reports, website content, presentations and other educational materials for a variety of audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in education, psychology, ethnic studies, sociology or related field
- Demonstrated experience collecting and synthesizing data for learning assessment or program evaluation
- Demonstrated experience facilitating dialogue and dialogic processes
- Demonstrated experience working in a higher education setting
